In July 2026, A Better Way hosted How Public Sector Professionals Can Use Storytelling to Create Change. This event built on learning from A Better Way and Co-create’s 2025 collection INVOLVEMENT, which featured 10 NHS professionals telling stories that demonstrated why storytelling matters, especially during times of change. One of the themes that emerged from our July session was the importance of listening. Stories can only create change when we give them our attention. So how can we become better listeners?

When we listen better, we gain access to new knowledge, strengthen relationships and collaboration, and create the conditions for build better things together.

We’d like to invite you to a session where we can explore together how to listen better in our work. We’ll look at listening from personal, relational and systemic perspectives - exploring both how we listen as individuals, and how the cultures and systems around us shape our ability to listen.
