Shifting the dial on learning and adapting

We are holding a series of three events for members who are finding it hard to work across institutions to provide better services, and want to share their insights as well as learn from others.

Imagine a system where relationships are strong, collaboration is the norm, power is shared, and people genuinely listen to one another. A system where learning is part of everyday practice, and where everybody is encouraged to take responsibility for improving the way things are done. Many leaders and practitioners are trying to shift the dial in this direction, but knowing how to make change stick, or even where to start, can be difficult.

At these three events, you’ll hear from others who have successful experience of doing this and will share your own challenges and opportunities.

The first event will focus on Shifting the dial on learning and adapting: How do we avoid the blame game which stifles learning? What does it take to create the conditions where staff at all levels are acting as systems leaders, working collaboratively to improve the way things are done?

The sessions will be led by our Better Way Associate, Cate Newnes-Smith, who successfully initiated systems-wide change for children in Surrey while at Surrey Youth Focus, and she will be joined by other speakers.
